Remote Speakers Output Plug-In 3.0b5
« Remote Speakers Output Plug-In 3.0b4 | Main | Remote Speakers Output Plug-In 2.4 »New beta version released. Stability should be much better in all players.
Download link: Remote Speakers output 3.0b5.
Please let me know if you run into any issues with it (including any issues previously reported that are still present).
Windows Media Player is now supported (early stages); not 100% sure if it will work with Vista/Windows 7 WMP.
Try this rsoutput.dll out. It should not try and display a date countdown dialog box during MM startup, which I think is what is causing the problem.

Works great, I love it! Thank you so much for making this killer plug-in. iTunes is terrible player for music. Its so sloooow with large libraries. I have always preferred winamp as a player, but have had to use iTunes for my iphone and airtunes. iTunes remote is pretty cool though, if someone made a winamp remote for the iphone that would be the bees knees.
This version of the plug-in is causing some serious crashes for me. Generally after playing a few songs the plug-in will freeze the entire OS just as it switches to the next song. Also occasionally when manually clicking through songs (next/back) it will take about 25 seconds to get to the next one, and during this time the mediaplayer is frozen (the OS is OK). I'll keep playing with it this weekend and see if I can figure out why this is happening.
Plugin beta 4 didn't have any of these issues, so I'm not sure what it could be. I did replace my out_apx.dll with the one that you posted above, but there is no difference. I'm running Mediamonkey on a eeepc netbook on windows xp.
Let me know if you need any more info...
I did not find any way to install it on WMP 12 (Windows 7) Please advise.
Eric, I am the author of MonkeyTunes plugin for MediaMonkey

It appears your plugin uses HTTP port 3689 to work with the Airport Express but since my application is a DACP Server it also uses 3689 and it causing a problem because I can't grab the port.

Any thoughts on how to remedy?
Feel free to email me to discuss.
Hi! Im experiencing the same problems as Thomas, the first guy posting here. And if I remove out_apx.dll, MM will work again. Downloaded the newest version of Bonjour but MM still is not starting up.
I tried with a really old version of the plugin (0.7) and then MM would start. But it wouldnt stream to the Airport. Probably not compatible with newer versions of MM, Bonjour and/or Vista.
Any ideas?
For those of you having trouble with getting MediaMonkey to accept the plug-in, I have heard reports that v2.3 is working properly. Could you verify?
If v2.3 is indeed working, can you try this version out? It should help me determine if the build environment or the code is the problem.
out_apx-2.3b.zip
Still the same problem. V2.3b still stops MM from starting up.
I am running Vista Home Premium (or whatever its named)
Could you please post a version thats guaranteed to work with Vista? I would love to try out your program. Looking forward to stream Flac.
Have a nice weekend!
Were these files removed? I can't seem to get to any of the 3.X beta files. Getting an apache webserver error.

Thanks to all who have tested the various betas so far. All expired versions have been removed. This is the reason for the server errors.
I'll be posting a v2.4 very shortly and there should be another v3.0 beta out in early January.
When I have installed the output plugin Mediamonkey refuses to start. I only brefly see the splash-screen and then it disappears.
If I remove the out_apx.dll file MM starts again as normal. Any idea on what can be wrong?
(Using latest MM on Vista32)
