Remote Speakers Output Plug-In 3.0b6
« Remote Speakers Output Plug-In 2.5 | Main | Note on Bonjour 2.0 compatibility »New beta version released. Startup and shutdown stability should be much better in all players. Volume-change delay should be gone for Windows 7. Remote control toggle from v2.4 integrated. Unicode support added for international characters in device names (and passwords). Windows Media Player is now supported (early stages); should work with WMP 11 (please confirm for XP and Vista) but not WMP 12.
Download link: Remote Speakers output v3.0b6 – active until April 15th.
Please let me know if you run into any issues with it — including any issues previously reported that are still present.
Good point, I guess it does use a different method for communicating. It would be an interesting 3.x feature since RS does pick it up.
i just downloaded your program to give it a try with my new Airport Express. The Express is seen by the network, the utility says it is connected, however, when I clip on the Aiport Express through your program on Winamp, the remote speaker box comes up and says it is connecting in a dialoge box, but never connects. Any suggestions?
Any word on when v3 is set to be released? Im running 2.5 right now, but havent activated yet in anticipation of the new version...
Is there a better place to post bugs and screen shots?
This doesn't seem to work with the Free Airfoil Speakers.

It recognizes them fine, but when they are selected and playback is attempted an error is thrown 'Unable to playback to remote speakers "NAME". Device is unsupported at this time.'

Ever attempted this? They should speak standard protocol.
