Remote Speakers Output Plug-In 4.9

Download link: Remote Speakers output v4.9

  • Added playlist position metadata for devices that support it (ex: "2 of 10" above progress bar on Apple TV)
  • Fixed remote progress counter display after unpausing; previously, for some devices, the progress counter could get stuck or lag behind by a few seconds
  • Reduced chance for audio clipping at the end of a playlist
  • Fixed limit checking of track length and offset for XMPlay
  • Fixed memory leak when reading track metadata from XMPlay
  • Improved handling of remote speakers disconnects
  • Improved support for MediaMonkey player portable install; track metadata can be retrieved from MM 4.1 or better without registering its COM interfaces
  • Improved support for MusicBee player; remote control and track metadata will work if MusicBeeIPC is present

Note for MusicBee users: MusicBee v2.4 fixes compatibility with RSO and other output plug-ins quite significantly. It is highly recommended. You can get the latest release candidate from the forum if it is not yet available from the main MusicBee page.

As far as playability, this is a great plug-in. For my needs, I would require the ability to control the list of airplay devices from scripting. Is there any way to do that? (I could not find a way all day long).
(Using it with MediaMonkey right now; I would have no issue switching to another player if that helped)

Hi, thanks for the plugin, I have two questions:

1) Can I send the music to multiple speakers at once?

2) Can I send different lossless music other than ALAC? For example FLAC?

I'm thinking about using it with foobar2000 but if these two option won't work which version should I use?

Thanks.

This is a great plugin, but can the "no remote player" popup be disabled, I ran foobar remotely via some command line script so the popup is an issue, sometime the airport express is on, sometime it is not, this popup has become a show stopper for me at the moment.

Can you disable the popup?

There's a bug with music bee. Whenever I leave music bee with the plugin as the output player, music bee will freeze when started again. I have to delete the plugin file to be able to start the program. If we change it back before leaving the application them it will start and we have to change again the output player to the plugin. Is there a fix? Thanks

Hello,
i tried the plugin to connect Mediamonkey (source) to a Raspberry Pi with OpenElec-XBMC (speaker). The OpenElec airplay works, i can send music from Apple devices. But when i run Mediamonkey with the plugin i get "Unable to initiate session with remote speakers "XBMC-Pi". Error code -200000. Output to a AppleTV3 works, so Bonjour and network seems to be fine.

Hi,

The plugin is great! Before i buy it i need to know if there is a way to control each devices Volume and not all together since i got speakers in different rooms. (I am using Media Monkey, but i do not mind using any player as long as i have this feature.)

Also is there an app or a way to have it on my iPhone or Android device, and be able to browse my music from it and the volume (I need to control the speakers All together or each speaker separately!)

Please let me know... :) (iTunes does that, but i do not want to use iTunes :I )

Thank you in Advance.

Dear Eric,
First of all, thanks a lot for writing this plugin. it works very good.
I'm considering buying it, but I'm having only one concern and wondering if you have any solution for it.

I have a HTPC running XBMC, and when playing sound, it works great, but after a reboot of the machine - I would like the Plugin to Auto-Reconnect to the receiver and resume playback.
After a reboot, the only way to resume playback is:
1. Remove the Airplay receiver from Plugin Configuration, then Apply
2. Re-Add the Airplay receiver from Plugin Configuration, then Apply.

Will it be possible to add an automatic resume and lookup for configured Airplay receivers?
(Auto-Recovery and Reconnect when an Airplay receiver was disconnected).

Thanks in advance,
Mefuzar
