Download link: Remote Speakers output v5.1

  • Changed connect dialog reveal from 1.5 to 3 seconds to reduce flicker
  • Fixed handling of international characters in profile path for Foobar2000; settings should now be saved and restored correctly in these cases
  • Improved volume handling for audio-video receivers; remote volume is checked before sending player's volume to prevent setting the device to an extremely loud setting and potentially damaging receiver or speakers (or eardrums)
  • Improved recognition of many Denon AVRs and the Klipsch G-17

One note regarding 3rd-party, unlicensed AirPlay devices: There is an incompatibility between the compressed stream and these uncertified AirPlay devices. At the point of track changeover, the devices output loud, garbled audio and then often disconnect. I have not been able to find the exact cause of the issue just yet. So until then, my recommendation is to run with v4.9 which uses uncompressed stream that seems to work fine.

Hello Eric and thank you for this plugin update. It's really a pleasure to see you still work on the development of this valuable component for our favourite players.

Foobar2000 plugin seems to invert Artist/Group and Album information sent to Airplay receivers. I did the check with Android device/app and Freebox as receivers.
What is sent by Pandora and Poweramp on Android through AirAudio (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.airaudio&hl=fr) and from Windows iTunes to the Freebox is OK, as well when iTunes sends the same information to the Android device. Apart 2 Airport Express stations, I don't own any iOS devices.

In addition, would there be any way to have volume control available from Android (I use the great FoobarCon app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wan.foobarconpro&hl=fr) and iOS ? TuneBlade (http://tuneblade.com/) provides such features for iOS devices.

And finally, but just FYI: being able to somewhat control Foobar from the Freebox remote control would great, but it seems Pause/Next/Previous track actions are not available, only Stop is OK; is there anyway to help improving this (providing logs, or anything else)? Do you know if such controls properly handled with other receivers as Airplay compatible amps and Kodi/XBMC setup ? I'll soon have a Raspberry Pi 2 to replace my good old Popcorn Hour A-110 NMT and I can't to tickle the Kodi/Airplay support thanks to your great Remote Speakers plugin.

And finally, do you have any plan to port Remote Speakers to "mobile" Foobar2000 when it will be available on (http://mobile.foobar2000.com/) ?

Thank you very much again, I don't spend a day without enjoying my music thanks to you !!

HI there. Thanks for the fantastic work on the plugin. I seem to be having a problem when playing music in a playlist. Playback always stops after the first track.

Annoyingly it works through iTunes Airplay. The next songs play just fine.

I have not paid for the full version yet.

Can you please offer some advice.

Regards

Alistair Lambert

Hey man,
I bought this product at version 4.9 after evaluating and loving it. About a week after that, every time I tried to use it the sound would come out totally wrong (like in small garbled fragments). I thought the update to 5.1 would do the trick but it still doesn't work. I'm a little disappointed cause I don't want to go through iTunes, and the problem has been with me since 4.9 so it's not an issue of this particular version. Any idea what I could do to fix this?
